This is a superb basket planting combination that will always catch your attention. When Petunia Night Sky was launched in 2017 it caused quite a stir and was quickly endorsed by gardeners looking for something different.

Both Petunias and Bacopa are sun loving plants, so this really isn’t a basket that you’d place in a shady position.

This basket is easy to make and for a 30cm basket will require just 6 plants for a really full effect. We’ve not tried but, there’s no reason why 6 plants wouldn’t also be ok in a 14″ hanging basket as well, it’d just need a little more time to fill out.

The Petunia Night Sky is a variety on its own, its produced from cuttings, not from seed, so whilst you should expect it to be more expensive than standard petunias, it’s definitely worth it.

For the Bacopa you have a number of options, some people still prefer the older ‘Snowflake’ variety, but certainly for this basket and against the flower size of the petunias, we’d advise to look for one of the newer larger flowered varieties that are out there.

Plants required are as follows.

3 x Petunia Night Sky
3 x Bacopa White
